Introducing the Arux app: Another way to keep families connected

Families want to know what's happening in their child’s day, make payments on the go, add authorized pickups when plans change, and quickly and securely sign their child in or out while arriving at school.

These everyday interactions shape how they experience your program. While each one may seem small, together they strengthen family connections throughout the school year.

The new Arux app for parents now gives your program a more seamless way to support these everyday moments from their phone and provide your families with the best experience possible.

A parent app built specifically for after school programs

Available on iOS and Android, the Arux app is intended for families and authorized pickups whose school district or organization uses Arux to manage after school, preschool, and summer camp programming. The functionality available to families within the app is at the discretion of the district or organization, so you get access to innovative tools without compromising control of your operations and processes.

The Arux app gives families another way to stay connected with your program. Whether they're paying an invoice, checking their child's activity updates, or reviewing authorized pickup information, the app brings common tasks together in one place. Within the app, families can:

View and pay invoices

Account owners can access billing and payments in the app to review their account balance, invoices, and payments. They can also make payments with one-click access to the Community Portal, where they can pay using Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Receive updates on their child’s schedule and activities throughout the day

Depending on your program's configuration and the information recorded by staff, the Activity Feed can include items like:

  • Scheduled care for current and upcoming dates

  • Sign-in and sign-out activity

  • Customizable status updates from your program, including photos and messages when included

  • Location changes recorded throughout the day

Families with more than one child can view activity for all of their children from the

same Activity Feed.

Manage authorized pickups and emergency contacts with ease

Account owners can view their current authorized pickups and add, modify, or remove pickup access. The app makes adding authorized pickups easy via mobile share links. Within the app, authorized pickups can sign children in and out, view available activity information, and see who else is authorized for pickup. They do not have access to manage or remove other authorized pickups.

Use contactless sign-in and sign-out options, including Bluetooth beacon or QR codes

Remote sign-in/out allows families and authorized pickups to complete attendance on their own devices while at the child care site. This feature is configured by the district and can be enabled per site.

Arux works with your team to introduce the app and highlight the functionality that makes the most sense for your programs. We’ll provide guidance on rollout and communication, so families know what to expect and how to get started.

What's next for the Arux app?

The Arux app is now available on the App Store and Google Play Store for families of organizations that use Arux to manage after school, preschool, and summer camp programming.

The app is another step in our continued investment in tools that help districts build stronger after school experiences for staff, families, and students. We’re excited to see how districts and organizations use the Arux app to create deeper engagement with those who matter most.
